Bruce Willis Kicked Ash

Posted by Janett on September 16, 2007

The Steve Miller Band, The Bruce Willis Blues Band and other local favorites performed at the Kick Ash Bash September 29.

The roof, the roof, the roof is NOT on fire. Thanks to the hard work of firefighters around the valley and country, gracious community members and topnotch leadership, our valley stills stands after the heat and commotion of the Castle Rock Fire. Locals are taking little for granted in these breezy September days and word has sprung up that it is time to celebrate the firefighters and our community at the Kick Ash Bash.

The Wood River Valley is home to many high profile figures, some of which will help to literally pump up the volume and come together for a night that will not soon be forgotten. The Bruce Willis Blues Band and The Steve Miller Band performed with hopes of bringing in lost tourism due to the fire as well as thanking all those involved for keeping the place we all visit, live and admire safe.

Willis is a part-time resident of the valley as well as the owner of The Mint and the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. Miller is also a resident whose home is located in one of the areas affected by the fire. “This is an opportunity for everyone to say thank you and make a contribution. The Steve Miller Band and Crew are looking forward to joining the entire community in giving thanks to all our firefighters for their Herculean efforts we want to encourage everyone to do as much as they can to replenish funding for them,” stated Miller. “We are very thankful to the bravest who saved our town,” added Willis.

It’s important to spread the news-our valley is in one, functioning, forested piece complete with standing ski hills. Some might argue that skiing might be better in the backcountry due to new open space. The Kick Ash Bash will took place Saturday, September 29 on East Avenue, downtown Ketchum. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the music starting at 7-10 p.m.
