Bruce Willis in Oliver Stone’s “Pinkville”

Posted by Janett on September 16, 2007

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Oliver Stone is set to make a return to the subject of the Vietnam War with “Pinkville,” a project that United Artists is financing. Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum are set to star in the feature, with Michael Pena in negotiations as well.

Based on a true story, “Pinkville” will tell of real-life Army general William R. Peers (Willis) who investigated the infamous 1968 My Lai Massacre of Vietnamese civilians. About 350-500 people, including mostly women, children and the elderly, were killed by U.S. soldiers. Tatum will play Hugh Thompson Jr., an Army helicopter pilot who helped stop the killing by flying between the attackers and the My Lai villagers. He rescued survivors and later testified against the soldiers. Pena would play Capt. Ernest Medina, the office who was in charge of commanding the troops. He was charged for the massacre but later found not guilty.
